Sealed Game Heaven — Forgotten Freshness
← General Sealed Discussion
Check out this crazy auction for 247 sealed NES games!

http://cgi.ebay.com/Sealed-New-NES-Nintendo-247-Games-Instant-Collection_W0QQitemZ160141893483QQihZ006QQcmdZViewItem

So, it is already over $2,000 with over 2 days left, which is not bad, at less than $10 a game!

What do you think these are worth individually, on average? I didn't see any stadium events or anything in the list, but it is still very impressive. I'd guess $30 per game would be very fair, but that is a complete guess. Comments?

(by the way, this is NOT my auction. I just was impressed by it.)
AHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nooooooooooooooooooooo...lol, I missed the Gearbolt...lol. Rough :p

yeah I know that you bid $1247 ... too bad
In regards to that Elemental Gearbolt Assassin's Case ~ It's interesting to read the following in a link given in the auction:

http://www.game-rave.com/psx/playstation_perfect_guide/features/assassin_case/index.html

> PlayStation Perfect wrote:"3. Official Sony Memory Card
> Originally planned to be gold plated as well, it seems that due to production issues Working Designs opted to just coat the gun by itself. Oddly enough, the included memory card is actually the very seldom seen Cherry Red edition. The concept of a gold memory card being abandoned can be verified in the included letter. It only mentions the GunCon by gold color. We are currently researching to see if there were gold cards at all in distribution."

It states that the package they own (Bearing in mind that there are only a handful of these in existence) includes a"Cherry Red" Memory Card, opposed to the Gold coloured one asshown in the auction above. It also states that there is a documant included which gives a description as to why there is a Cherry Red Memory Card opposed to the Golden one.

So, it seems there are variations on what is something rare to start with
Chrono Trigger Prototype (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250210651528&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=015)

Racemate Computrainer for the NES (and yes this one works!) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220196040253&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=012)

theyre not sealed.. but they're expensive as hell.
Let's see if this chrisclearout will get any good feedback
The same buyer picked up both copies of sealed Chorno Trigger. One ended at $1217 and the other ended at 320 pounds.

must have alot of money
In cases such as that, it's not uncommon to find that the buyer runs some kind of fansite, or is a collector of items from a specific franchise - Take DJ Villa for example, I am sure he would be prepared to pay silly amounts (Funds permitting) for various Final Fantasy prototypes. Likewise, a collector who needs only one or two games from having a complete set would also be willing to pay over the odds for something - Personally, Pokemon Crystal is top of my list, and I would go to almost any length to complete my Pokemon collection with this title. It's all relative really

I can't believe the prices some of the PC Engine items fetched:

A CoreGrafx for nearly $400?!?! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230221125136

This new one is for sale for $150. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300151403995

Someone can make a bit of money

Sometimes people get blind. And dumb...

Just several weeks ago i've bidded on Arcana for SNES. It was a nice complete copy. When the price topped up to 40$(!) i was amazed. People bidded even higher however there was a copy for 34.99 with BIN option available. :face:
So... some bidders are really dumb. And some sellers are lucky.
^
I hear ya Dark Sol. I just recently looked for a sealed copy of the FFXII Strategy Guide on eBay and say a bidder bidding on one for $35.00 when another seller had sealed copies for weeks for just $14.99...so I bought those. I think people find the first they see and just have to go for it.

I MAY bid "higher then normal" only when i get something along from same seller. For example 3 or 4 games. So shipping fees can be less. But for 1 game... lol. Never. I'm too experienced ebayer for this (almost 5 years on ebay)

It is not that rare, even with such a low figure production.
I sold mine like 2 years ago for 600€,and could get one now for this price at any time.
There was 1 on Yahoo waiting to be sold for months at 50000 Yens.
Strangely, this system isn't much appreictaed there.
Japanese ppl will prefer to bid 2 times that price for a Bio Hazard STARS Dreamcast, which has a 200 unit production

That's because FF Crystal Chronicles suck. And it suck SO much that it makes the whole gamecube suck as well! And Biohazard never sucked. :farao:
