It's not because other people like buying one game in several copies that it's sickness.
I mean it ain't sicker than collecting sealed games, collecting video games or wathever else. Any form of collection is useless but people do collect because they like it, no matter how they do collect you can't judge.
It's only sickness to you because you can't get a copy for yourself. And your english skills have nothing to do in this. Maybe you're not jealous but you are at least angry.

well, no I don't understand your thoughts.
But as I understand them the same way all other people here understand them, maybe it's just you that can't admit what you say is, if not full of jealousy, at least trully ambiguous.
You say your english is poor so you can't explain, but the more you try to explain, the more what you say makes feel the inner jealousy in it.
Man, it's not because you THINK you are not jealous that you aren't actually jealous.

I am pretty sure everyone here understands my thoughts. They just disagree, but that's ok. That's just different sides of view.

"Regular" game collectors, meaning collectors who buy used games to play, think collecting sealed games is ridiculous. Some of them are very intolerant of it, in fact, and they have their "reasons" as well. Their arguments are usually something along the lines of "games are meant to be played with" or "sealed game collectors are raising prices for everyone else" etc...

That being said, I think sealed collectors coming down on other sealed collectors for buying duplicates is hypocritical. Remember, regular game collectors have their "reasons" for not liking what you do, and you may have your "reasons" for not liking someone who buys duplicates, but that doesn't mean it's any less valid or moral than what you do. Collecting ANYTHING in any manner is capitalistic in nature and inherently selfish, so if you're going to play the morality card against other collectors, be prepared to look in the mirror first.

The world is unfair? Of course it is. The fact that you can afford ANY sealed games means you are in the top 15% of the world's population. Spending a few hundred dollars on a sealed game, whether you already have one or not, is spending several months salary for most of the world. Does that make YOU greedy? Yes it does, to most of the world.

I'll say it again; collecting is greedy in and of itself, period. Stop trying to make it into something noble because of nostalgia, etc..., because it's all just materialism in the end. So what this debate basically boils down to is one greedy group of people coming down on another group of greedy people because they want to be able to get their games cheaper, which is very ironic. Just like in any other area, those who are most willing and ready to cast judgment on others do so because they're projecting their own flaws; in other words, fat people are critical of other people's bodies, racists cry racism, and greedy people accuse others of greed.

If you actually read my posts, that's exactly my point. No collector is in a position to judge another collector based on their collecting habits.

is the best answer to this question. money changes everything. whether memories, nostalgia, etc. your pupils will turn into dollar signs once youve sold a game you bought for $5 to $2,500 (i havent yet btw). its hard to believe, but that sense of accomplishment and achievement is an awesome feeling. there is a difference between collecting for the purpose of collecting, and collecting for the purpose of selling.

more copies => price goes up => lots more money to buy other games. Some of us make our income off these things.... atleast I do.

New ones or old ones? I play roms for old games. I just finished BOF 2 and now im working on BOF 3. They are both disappointing compared to BOF 1

Phantasy Star 4 easily beats anything

BOF 1 is the best in the BOF series imo but nowhere near the best rpg ever.
