Sealed Game Heaven — Forgotten Freshness
← General Sealed Discussion
I mean why some people keep on buying several sealed copies of same games? What is this? Stupidity? Greed? Investment? Madness?
Own ONE copy. It's perfect already. Stare at it. Why a dozen?
Nothing wrong with multiple copies when you can afford it but there is something wrong when you cant afford it and are jealous..
wait... whos jealous here?
> bassman8866 wrote:wait... whos jealous here?

the people who allways complain about multiple copies
Abramovich also can afford several yachts...and at the same time Kamchatka citizens live in debris at -55 C eating insects... nothing wrong though...
So a few people buy all Chronos and what is left is the Vegas stakes for others to feast on.

You mean me for sure.
Well i bought three copies of Robotrek just because i am a jealous bastard.

Unfortunately my greed is much lower that of rarebuckies or Adols, yet. But i'm working on it. I've just started.

Yes, and don't forget Space Invaders!

yes now you have 2 games to fight for!

Who complains? Merely pointing out that the healthy demand of CT is kept alive by the fact that supply will never be enough to certain collectors.

I buy two of nearly everything I own, purely for condition reasons. I feel my odds of having a perfect copy are increased with multiple examples until I find one I feel I can't imporve upon. I imagine it's the same with CT collectors.

thats probably why you immediately listed one of those robotreks for 400+ usd

Even when you have FIVE copies of CT???
what is wrong with multiple copies im saying when it satisfy you?

No, i've listed it for a 499$ actually.

CT's are flimsy by nature. I feel there will always be doubt that someone has "the best" and thus, the eternal pursuit rages on.

I'm just psyched because while all these thousands are being passed around, an absolute dream auction I missed 4 years ago was relisted, and I think I can snag for maybe under $20.00. 3 Days to go...well see.

Don't you get it?
Simple example.
You see a queue in a super-market. People are starving and want to buy bread,
Then comes Abramovich and buys all bread at once. People are f**ked up and dead.
Too much resources in the greedy hands is a horrible weapon.

Don't buy for fun!
^

Not a good example bud. Games are luxury. No rules on luxury. No rules on food either for that matter. People who can eat, eat. People who can't die. That's Darwinism.
So you can let people die in such situation? Not even a chance?
I am not talking about "rules". I talk about quantity here. If you keep buying for fun - you're ill.
> Dark Sol wrote:If you keep buying for fun - you're ill.

And why? these sound like words of an angry peasant.

People die everyday, not to be morbid. I could spend my life giving everything I have to others, and then some bird knocks a vase from a 10 story building and I'm killed instantly. Just life.

But again, you shouldn't mix the inequalities of life with a microcosm of sealed game collecting; a community whose numbers are dwarfed, I imagine, by other such groups as...say Japanese panty collectors, or licked stamp aficionados. All in all, we're not a good sample size from which to bounce off issues of the day.
All i have to say is - don't buy just cause you can afford it and you have a copy already. It is silly, it is greed. Someone else may want it as well! Be cool goddamnit! Hall of the Mountain king it is, some people are sitting on piles of CT's while others could barely have a chance.
World is unfair.
Yes, life is unfair. There are those who can afford Chrono and those who cannot. The haves and the have-nots
you guys are only buying games to be the envy of others.

The one and only collector I can actually agree w/ is Startyde since he collects for sentimental purposes not just because other people think it's great.

I think everyone else started there but it just got out of control.

I personally only collect games I've played at some point and liked.

And this is why you're my homie Striker. Wurd.
do any of you have real jobs/go to school?
Dude, you NEED little chinese kids working 20 hours a day in their factory and african boys starving when not get killed in a war to have your modern style of life, play videogames, wear expensive clothes and buy so many useless shit all week long so don't start to debate about sealed video games on this point of view.
Reminds me of a french singer who was talking on tv yesterday for his last album "bla bla bla, poor chinese boys, bla bla bla, evil consumption society, bla bla bla". Dude ! Start stopping producing CRAP music albums (I mean, trully crap), complaining about people illegally downloading it (we are starting to have aggressive law about illegal download in france and this guy always supported them) and then come back to talk.
