Many games for my favourite genre (RPG's) have been released in America but never the UK, which has drawn me to importing many games from the US. Unfortunately, many Limited Editions become rare very quickly, and increase in value many times over (Shin Megami Tensai: Nocturne being just one example) - At least we have the benefit of a superb Dollar / Pound exchange rate right now though, which means it has never been a better time to import games than now!
I tend to only really buy American games if the game was never released here, or if it forms part of a sub-collection (Such as Final Fantasy games). I have been known to just randomly browse eBay.us though and buy the occasional "Cheapie" just for the sake of it!
Most of my US collection consists of RPG's or similar style games. Most of these being either Squaresoft, Atlus, or Enix games. Many of these are considered some of the rarest games these days, especially in sealed condition!
