Safe permanent marker removal?

Locked
Is it possible?
Permanent marker ink goes through the paper. If you use alcohol it will damager the paper and colored surface.
Just sucks that someone would use a marker on a game.
oh yes it sucks. And i destroyed several games with alcohol already.
wd40 kind of messed up my plastic but the marker was so bad that it was worth it.
There's gotta be some way to get permanent market off. Will Goo Gone work? Toothpaste?
Right now i am thinking about two ways. the things called Amodex and some erase pencil used for white boards.
This stuff?

Supposedly removes permanent marker.
Yes. This one. I thought to buy one to check.
Let us know if it works well on shrinkwrap.
Maybe you will check it?
It's cheap and it will be ages till it gets to me.
i will also buy a bottle of goo gone to check.
Goo Gone is excellent for removing marker and sticker off plastic, Not game box.
I've used Goo Gone on stickers (amazing) but did not try on marker yet.
Goo Gone is safe for jewel cases as well. Paint thinner or highly concentrated alcohol is not safe. And it is impossible to remove marker from cardboard box w/o damaging it somehow.
May be possible i guess. There are dry eraser markers in existence. That were used to whipe the perm.markers from board. I guess they can help. But i need to find some first
Magic erasor will work but it rubs off the colors along with the marker.
In regards to the removal of permanent ink...the absolute best product on the market is called "Goof-Off" and comes in a yellow can (either spray or pour) stocked in the paint section of supermarkets. It works flawlessly to remove ink from plastic shrink wrap or cellophane with no ill effects. it removes price-tags and residue with ease. Even the metal security stickers and plastic box-like security tabs come off without a trace.

As for paper products, A little Goof-Off on a soft rag, dabbed on the inked area sucks the ink out right of the paper without damaging or discoloring the surrounding card surface.
Is Goof-Off almost the same as Goo Gone?
FYI - I used Goo Gone today and it removed permanent marker perfectly from the wrap on one of my SNES games. No need for anything else! GOO GONE!!!
It was just the wrap. Try it on boxes. The paper/cardboard boxes.
I don't have any cardboard to try it on. Most of my stuff is sealed now
Well take any other box. Write with a marker on it....
