The ideal way to protect your sealed games

Locked
I was in my local Tesco recently, and was thinking about how great it would be if I could somehow obtain (Legitimately) some of those wonderful hard clear plastic cases they use to prevent theft. Seeing as quite a few items in my collection are worth quite a substantial amount, I thought i'd do a little extra research...

Now I am sure everyone has at one time or another thought about protecting cartain games in their collection, be it rare or delicate games? Maybe a mint Radiant Silvergun, or maybe Panzer Dragoon Saga or Suikoden perhaps? Even games which aren't sealed but which may be worth a lot of money, such as black label FFVII? And what about those fragile SNES and N64 games which come in cardboard cases...?

Well, these cases are ideal for that sort of thing, and ensures that no damage will ever come to your most valuable games. Especially useful for N64 / Snes / GameBoy games which come in cardboard cases!

I managed to track down the company which makes these products via Google. This is what I found:

(What I believe to be the official manufacturer's site):

http://www.mwsecurity.se ~ The product's themselves are known as "Safers"

And a few other sites selling these products:

http://www.qdtrading.co.uk (http://www.qdtrading.co.uk/index.php?cPath=28&osCsid=355733277eb11584781e47c873d97aea) ~ Sells Dvd sized "Safers" for as little as £0.95. Perfect for various current and previous generation games (Eg, PS2; Xbox; GameCube; Wii; X360)

http://www.medioeurope.com (http://www.medioeurope.com/index.php?page=CATPAGE&c=Safers&PHPSESSID=a934e8a1db7856b8bdf148ef6e2acffe) ~ Sells various shapes and sizes

They do all sorts of products, and specifically for certain games as well, such as PlayStation and Dvd size box's for everything else...

Protection doesn't come cheap though. A set of 72 Dvd size box's (Shown above) will cost you approx. £165.00! That's roughly £2.30 each.

As many of you might agree, this is a small price to pay to protect your most valuable sealed games in your collection!
What do you guys use for dvd styles cases? I would like to find someone from ebay that sells these but come up empty every search. I found a company that has them but it's from another site and they don't offer paypal as an option to pay with.

Hi, personall i just use resealable bags, they will protect the seal of your game and look ok if you can make a good job of it.
Definitely gonna pick up some of those DVD plastic cases, right now my dvd games are wrapped in reynolds wrap(rather sloppily as well).

do they fit only dvd's? can they fit a snes game?
If you want snes game ones i'd get in touch with SNES-Bits, he's even a member on this site now
Anyone know where to get similar plastic DVD cases but that will hold oversized packages (i.e. double case games, or boxsets like Growlanser)?
May I also ask if anyone knows where to get those plastic cases that will hold CD games (i.e. Playstation 1 games) and thicker CD-case games such as PAL dreamcast and playstation games?
I am making a deal with a manufacturer to make me some snapper boxes so hopefully soon I will post with a link to get them from me. I have been debating with myself which to start with that are going to move really fast. I am not about to step on the toes of the guys selling the snes boxes though (snesbits). I am however leaning toward ds, dvd, collector edition fat dvd and gba snapper boxes. Let me know what you guys think I can move fairly fast and it will help with my initial run decision.

Thanks,
Ryan
I am looking for plastic cases that protect CD cases, fatter CD cases (i.e. PAL Playstation and Dreamcast games) as wells as NDS games which also fit into CD plastic bags so I believe the cases could be same size as CD cases. Probably at least 100 cases for each size.
I sent my measurements in today for nds cases, nds will be my first case adventure. I hope everything goes good and they are well recieved.
I would definitley be interested in buying Double CD case, Reg Cd Case, and Fat DVD case(MGS3 ltd, Growlanser etc)
I will have my dvd sized box protectors this week, I will post pics of them when they arrive.
fragg3d:
did you buy the dvd protectors from bagsunlimited or what? any links?

Do anyone know if there are cd protector cases like the dvd protector boxes from bagsunlimited?

Any other kind of protectors?

Because the links from Gemini are a bid too expensive over all ...
I had them made, the bags unlimited were too pricey. I want to make sure they are top notch before I start offering them. The company doing them for me is working on my ds box protectors right now.

Thanks,
Ryan
I think for CDs I am ok with just having a resealable tight baggie over it, like how they have many games in stores in Japan. Does anyone know where you can buy those in bulk cheap? If I put every CD I have in a plastic case my collection would literally overtake my entire home, everything would double in size!

I have these ones cheap in Russia. I can buy 1000 for 15$
yeah but I want some hard boxes like the dvd ones ... anyone know some good links?
I got them today! Here are a few pics of them for anyone interested. I only have a limited run of these because we are talking to two suppliers and I got these as samples. These will fit standard dvd cases: PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Gamecube and Wii. It will also fit PS3 with a little room to spare.

Prices are:

10 for $10 -Shipping is $5.00 in the US
25 for $20 -Shipping is $5.75 in the US
50 for $40 -Shipping is $10.00 in the US

Those look fantastic! Is the plastic the same firmness as the NES/SNES boxes? We should put together a group buy to do them, no? I would think between the forum members we would probably need thousands. I could use a thousand myself
When I decide which supplier to go with I am ordering 5-10k of them. After they get them done we are getting the nds ones made.
The resealable plastic bags for CD jewel cases also fit DS games so I am wondering if these DS ones would fit CD games too? Are you planning to make the DS games so that it fits perfectly without space, if not, maybe if you make them a bit bigger, it could serve the purpose for CD games as well.
check your private messages fragged3d ^^

Do you put all your conversion cart you pawn off in cases as well?
hope it is ok that i use this thread.

im looking for a way to protect my sealed player guide's.
it should protect the corners of the books. so im looking for something like a "seal-king" or something like this one from fragged3d.
there is also the problem that some collector edition books are really thick, like the FF XII CE guide.

any ideas what i should look for or where i can look for something like that?

thx
